Our love story...

Fifteen years ago a boy, John, asked a girl, Jen, out and she said yes. From that point on we were inseparable...

Cut to December 6, 2014 in Rockafella Center, NYC that same boy asked that same girl to marry him... and she said Yes! September 12, 2015 they were married!! Now those two crazy kids have two beautiful daughters, Brooklyn and Vayda, and an amazing dog Kinsley.

Although we have been together almost sixteen years, married four, it still seems like yesterday we were sitting next together in art class listening to The Rolling Stones working on whatever project we had going on. We then both attended Kent State University where John studied theater management and I studied fashion and marketing. Being that we both love the arts, it is just natural we found a passion for photography. 

John stumbled into the hobby first. He really enjoyed taking pictures of everything and anything. He then bought a Canon camera and the rest is history. While at Kent I took several computer classes, photoshop and illustrator being one of them. After John would take the pictures I would sit down for hours editing images, and playing around with different effects. After working on several senior portrait sessions together we found out we had a nice little team. The original name for John’s photography company was High Society Photography. Over the years we have expanded from senior portraits, to maternity, engagement, infant and children, and eventually weddings. The more and more jobs we did, the more and more I got involved in the photography side. I wasn’t just editing anymore. We then decided to change the name to Photography by J.Traina. Since getting married we are both J. Traina! Fun how that worked out. John is the owner and lead photographer, while I assist at most photo sessions taking photos as well. I also do all editing, and manage our website, email, and social media accounts. Photography is something we enjoy doing together, and love sharing it with those around us. 

As mentioned before we started with senior photos, but since have expanded into all aspects of lifestyle photography. Most recently branching out into weddings. No matter what your event may be we love capturing those special moments our clients will cherish forever.
